The Free World!

If you just graduated college, Congratulations! This is a very exciting time in your career but it is important to remember not to freak out.

It’s hard to think of what you want to do with your life once your responsibilities are gone but don’t fret, this is now an opportunity to get to know yourself without the pressure of fitting into the social circles created in college.

If you haven’t found a job yet, don’t sit at home and wait for someone to call you, go out there and look for a place to start. The reality is, sometimes we don’t start working in the field we spent four years studying for.

Approach the world with an open mind, sometimes you have to start where you won’t end up but that’s because you have to learn a lot about the work field. From my experience, working retail has been a real drag and after my first retail job I swore I would never do it again.

Luckily, I’ve found my place at my current retail job with various opportunities for growth. What has really helped me is keeping an open mind and a high level of optimism. But it is important to remember, not everything lasts forever, you have to decide the length of time you want to do something before you embark into your road of desire.

You must also find a way to maintain your happiness and learn about new things on your own. You may be thinking about moving out the state but before you do, make sure you’ve explored everything you can where you already live.

Go out with friends and have a good time, take some free classes and lots of photos to look back to. But most importantly, take care of your financial situation and get a good hold of it. College loans will always follow you but maintaining a payment schedule will reduce your worries and make saving up for that dream house (and car) a little more easy.
