How to avoid internet Fraud

Posted by Ana Castillo on Thursday, August 20, 2015, In : Blog
There are lots of sites in the internet that seem to be very promising but instead are fraudulent and misleading. Speaking from experience, I can say that even a job post at a website that is trustworthy can lead you to be a victim of scamming. Through my bad experiences in the past few years I also learned that there are sites that help you detect how trustworthy a page is. These are Scamadviser and the Rip off report.
But there are a few things you should keep in mind in this crazy interne...

City Dove

Posted by Ana Castillo on Sunday, July 26, 2015, In : Blog

There are tags underneath our membranes. Although our mind controls the way our body behaves, we tend to become a slave to it. As I grow older, I continually notice that everyday is at war, against our conscious. Most people don’t realize how amazing it is that we can constantly work against our desires to accomplish what we need to get done.

In a matter of days, you can change your personality and the whole world will notice. Experience helps you develop some ...

Post-College Job Hunt

Posted by Ana Castillo on Friday, July 10, 2015, In : Blog
It's probably been a couple of months since you've graduated and nothing has come up, but don't lose hope. Remember that if you don't keep trying no one else will do it for you.
Before I get into any discussion, let me start by sharing this amazing site I stumbled upon today; www.aftercollege.com
The mission of this website is to help current or graduating college students land a job that pertains to the major they study or are planning to study. It looks for both internships and jobs.
Now, ...

If you just graduated college, Congratulations! This is a very exciting time in your career but it is important to remember not to freak out.

It’s hard to think of what you want to do with your life once your responsibilities are gone but don’t fret, this is now an opportunity to get to know yourself without the pressure of fitting into the social circles created in college.

If you haven’t found a job yet, don’t sit at home and wait for...

First Conversations

Posted by Ana Castillo on Thursday, January 15, 2015, In : Blog

Today, I was finally able to have a conversation with my mother after having my tongue literally tied for the past 5 days due to my tonsillectomy. Ever since my uncle passed away last year, we have felt so much different about going back home. She told me she spoke to my aunt today only to be more disappointed about how troublesome our old neighborhood has become along with the people.

I find myself having this battle everyday. When I was in High School and my early stages of living in Americ...

The Bad Boys of America

Posted by Ana Castillo on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, In : Blog
It is no secret that many celebrities in America Idolize bad boys of the past as influential people or simply the badass that they were. Some notable names that I've constantly heard many names via rap songs on my iPod and two that have stuck out the most are James Dean and John Gotti. My question is, what makes these men and all the others worth mentioning? And even more now that one of the most searched for criminal, el chapo, is put behind bars.

John Gotti
John Gotti was born in the Bronx...

New York Minute

Traveling through the MTA is a major hassle, and it can be a workload trying to survive in the means of traveling. A lot of people say it would be much easier to drive your way around the city, but the truth is driving requires just as much patience as public transportation. If your still not convinced, keep reading for the observations I have made through my experiences the past three months.
It is by no means easy to live in the suburbs, but even living in a rural community has its own dow...

My 5 Rules Of Life

Posted by Ana Castillo on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, In : Blog
I've been giving a lot of though about this the past week, and we all wonder what is the secret to live a perfect life. Although there is no such thing a perfect life, there's something called "Change". This doesn't mean you have to change the way you are to please everyone else, it means that you should think about the things that bother you before making a big deal about them.

1. Don't always do favors for others.
Why?-- Well, at one point you will find yourself handling everyone else's bu...

My Bloody Valentine

Posted by Ana Castillo on Friday, February 10, 2012, In : Blog
Put your heart inside me
I'm trying so hard to
Leave the pain behind me

Standing at the edge of the sky
Thinking time. Let it go by.
"Hey there!" You said
You asked for my name
You asked for what made me turn
Turn this way.

Guy. Guy I don't know you.
Why do seek to hurt those below you?
This is time. Time I spent.
Spent with you, not one cent left.

"Hello" I said. I asked if you'd love me.
Yes you said, you said yes.
Your primitive, your goal, the reason to wake.

"Marry me" you offered, you offered to me....

I'm Sorry

Posted by Ana Castillo on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, In : Blog
It's not the amount of times you say sorry, it's the fact that maybe you shouldn't have.
Or that as you keep saying it it becomes a prayer.
5 words don't erase the sentiments that overtook me when the pain was flushing through.
5 words now seem a lie because of all you put me through.
Say it again. And again. By the time you actually mean it, I won't recognize it.
So; I'm sorry. But my apology is longer than the lies underneath your bad intentions.

Color

Posted by Ana Castillo on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, In : Blog

Here's my observation:

I wake up

My skin is brown.

I work out,

Shower, get a massage.

Almost drown,

Almost Choke.

Heal.

Still brown.

I have color.

Here's my argument:

I’m not only brown, I’m beautiful.

Dark and beautiful.

Like chocolate, caramel and cinnamon.

Color!

But, there are people

who think it isn't.

"She's dark!"

Gasp!

So because I'm dark

I'm ghetto

I will steal your money

Take Your purse without a gun

Talk without manners

Curse after every word

Put my elbows on the tabl...

My Confessions

Posted by Ana Castillo on Friday, December 9, 2011, In : Blog
Square one
Always torn between two feelings.
This is why I cannot love.
There are people who understand it,
And then there's those who just ignore.

If you can't understand where I come from
Then you won't understand who I am.
If you can't accept how I feel
Then maybe I'm not what you feel.

In life we are fascinated, obligated and underestimated .
I'm all of the above. Square two:
I say what I feel when I feel that is wrong.
I say who I love when I don't love at all.

It never makes sense. None of it makes ...

"He's Just another picture to burn"- Taylor Swift.

And when I'm gone
who will you turn to?
When I'm gone, far ahead.

When the river has flushed away all my tears
When I no longer seek a hero in a man
Where will you be?

If I crawl under your attitude
Becoming part of your being
What will you do?

Am I far ahead by saying.
That I see that your okay.
That although I'm not around
You seem to strive in success!
How should I take that?

If it is not me that you loved
But the one you said I love you to
Who do you re...

The United States of Pinocchio

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure Domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the Blessing of Liberty to ourselves and our prosperity, do ordain and establish this constitution for the United states of America.

This is what the Preamble for our constitution says
We are now in the 21st Century, in a more diverse society.
Our constitution remains the same.

Recharging

Posted by Ana Castillo on Sunday, October 16, 2011, In : Blog
It's not normal to go on having great things happen to you
Sometimes in the left field you have a load of happiness
But then in the right you find the people that envy it.

How can you possibly contain yourself when your always being tackled?
Is this the test? Now I have to respond by... how?

This is the time when Isolation and segregation are my best friends
When ignorant people do the impossible to ignore my demands for silence
Some problems have solutions within themselves, so maybe this isn't my ...

Battered

Posted by Ana Castillo on Thursday, September 15, 2011, In : Blog
There is absolutely now way to understand why any women would stay with a man that mistreats or demeanors her.
Before any women can love a men, she must first love herself.
Otherwise she will be miserable. Two wrongs don't make a right, that only happens in math.

You see, a women's confidence starts out high.
Through the passage of time, as she becomes older, there are aspects in life that she may not be able to handle.
An example of this is bullying. I was bullied from the age of 9 when I moved t...

Go Back to Your country

Posted by Ana Castillo on Monday, September 12, 2011, In : Blog
I've heard it many times
Heard it when I moved to America a month after the towers fell
When I entered middle school, High school and now college.
The phrase is intended to be a joke, but why is this humorous?

I mean whose land is this anyway?
It was discovered by accident by Christopher Columbus
Shouldn't the Native Americans be saying this to me?

I walk the soil of this land like everyone else
I serve the community, and I continue to educate myself
So why is such a joke used towards me, better yet,...

Or when you sleep?

The  surreal is real
But none its really real.

Then when I'm awake
Nothing is the same
Like a seed without minerals
My life its back to it same old way

Several options
what decision to make?

There are so many options
Each with a price, unaffordable
Yet. We want it all...

Sitting there, hopelessly.
Then waiter comes

You must be sitting there, undecided.
As he bites his anger through his teeth.
Not necessarily what he went to school for
But it's what keeps him alive, For now.

Minutes pass, he comes back, and your still not ready.
Time is ticking, and it's soon closing time.
Sweat running through his forehead

Marriage

Posted by Ana Castillo on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, In : Blog
What stands behind vows?
what makes this such a crave?
Is it the transcending memories
That quarrel up within the days?

Two who start separate at the beginning of life
Through that long walk for the unity,
The years pass them by.

Each memory, each defeat
But it took all that to just meet
And stay here with this person.

The end of a journey, but the start of an adventure
To feel free, a be loved
To feel respected and appreciated but never hated.

That's love for some, but a burden for others.
Some who pour ...

Love

Posted by Ana Castillo on Friday, July 29, 2011, In : Blog
Before the society came the civilization
When two were forbidden to love
But their bond was even greater
when their veins met at the palm of their hands.

Like the Virtruvian man
They were one
But their worlds touched different ends
A life round and easy
Another straight a direct

Love a man with wealth
The educated woman
Your a nobody
Your love has no future

But together they held hands
Ran away-saved
Although most romances end in tragedy
The only Tragedy was to disobey

Free like the mountains

Optimism Vs. The Pessimist

Posted by Ana Castillo on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, In : Blog
He thinks that I won't make it far
Always looking at the negatives in life
How the next one fell and the previous didn't raise

I'm built from stone to sustain the heat
Embellished with scars to demonstrate my journey
The finish line doesn't symbolize where I stop,
It's a pure reminder of my accomplishments

I'm not made of rubber, but my abilities can stretch
I believe in myself, I believe I've done well
That's all I need

A man is set upon your path to undermine your abilities
Make you believe your makin...

No end

I surrender to the memories that crawl up on my brain
Sometimes it seems like and endless disaster
Is it possible to dream so much and get hung up in the illusion?
I swore one day, I would do things your way.

At times, I feel like I failed you.
12 years old now 18
I think...
Think. Why did I ever stop?
It stuck in my head like a squids tentacle.

I never though I would carry this for so long
It burns. It doesn't seem real. And it isn't.
Maybe one day, but did that day already come?

Sometimes living in the...

The sleep less year

A journey begins
awaiting excitement,
a continuation from what was previously done.
Is not as easy as it seems...

On day one, there's a fulfillment of joy.
But is not long before things start to change
Not necessarily something good. It's reality

The first thing you realize is that there's not enough time
You fucked up yesterday, but it'll just keep haunting you
As the days progress, more problems crawl up from behind
Caught up in a web, your tied down by the spider

Will you be the feast of the night?

Traveling Passport

Posted by Ana Castillo on Thursday, March 18, 2010, In : Blog
My mind is clouded
There are times when I feel
As though the chaos of the world
Re-occurs inside of me.
Just when one problem is solved
Another one takes on.

There's a highway with 20 lanes
It takes me finishing one to discover
where the other one will go.
There is one lane that I always take
One i always go back to.
As much as I try to forget it
It indulges my deepest concerns.

It makes me forget about the other lanes.
It makes me wish things were
as before I started traveling.
But although things do not re...

Doesn't mean its really ugly.
And doesn't mean you should fix it.

Just because my hair gets messy
It doesn't mean you have the right to make fun of me.
Neither it means you can put stuff on it.
And it doesn't mean yours is better.

Just because my hair gets messy

Though I never me him
He was so sweet.
I know him from all the stories
My father told me.
It's amazing in so little time
I've learned a lot about this guy.
He worked for hours and long days.
But still he had time to come and play.

On every Birthday he went to the store
And bought a cake with much love.
The food was expensive and so were the clothes.
But he still came with something small.
His kids weren't happy
Because of the war
But with his protection
They managed to go.
One almost died...

Her eyes are mysterious
Her look hypnotizes
Her lips are as red as the pedals of a rose
As she walks, everything turns into perfection.

There's no other woman that compares to her.
She's full of bliss and harmony.
but her stare is deceitful.
you cannot trust what you see.
For beauty is what makes us weak.

Her lips, make the world tremble
As though blood ran through the pipes of the darkest cities
Her skin is pale, yet... the blend of colors
makes her hard to resist
